Infrastructure Improvement & Access
Infrastructure & Access: Building a Connected Commerce City
Our community deserves infrastructure that works for us, not just for developers or traffic counts.
Why This Matters
As Commerce City grows, we face strained roads, limited pedestrian access, and a lack of nearby shops and restaurants. That needs to change.
Combatting Growing Pains: Smart Infrastructure Ahead
From widening key roads to ensuring ADA‑compliant sidewalks and safer crossings, our plan means smarter, safer mobility for all:
- Improve & maintain roads with citizen input, focusing on safety, traffic flow, and long-term value.
- Expand sidewalk and bike networks to encourage healthy, accessible travel.
- Upgrade neglected thoroughfares such as the Chambers Road and 96th Avenue corridor to ease congestion and support neighborhoods.
Commerce City is already investing in such improvements, including ADA sidewalk upgrades and a Broadband Infrastructure plan—as part of its ACT (Advancing Commerce City Together) initiative :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}.
Access to Desirable Retail & Dining
People don’t just want to get there, they want to live, shop, and socialize close to home. Here’s the vision:
- Support transit-oriented development around the N‑Line’s Commerce City/72nd commuter rail station, turning it into a hub of shops, cafes, and homes :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}.
- Promote public spaces like parks, cafes, and mixed-use destinations, that integrate with trails and greenways along the South Platte corridor :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}.
- Ensure every new development includes pedestrian-friendly amenities, not just parking.
Opportunity to Engage
These projects shouldn’t just happen to us, they should be shaped by you. That’s why I’ll push for:
- Regular community workshops on infrastructure and development plans.
- Fully transparent progress dashboards showing project timelines, budgets, and status updates.
- A vote for your community’s needs, not just the loudest lobbyist.
Let’s Build a Livable and Connected Commerce City
When we plan smarter roads, vibrant shopping areas, and walkable neighborhoods, we build better neighborhoods. That means better quality of life, for families, seniors, and all of us.
Vote for infrastructure that serves residents, today and tomorrow.
